Cameron Ashley Portfolio Redesign
A faster, clearer portfolio with an enquiry-first visitor journey
ReactTypeScriptAccessibilityVPS Delivery
The challenge
Replace an older portfolio with a focused service site while preserving established URLs, improving the path from interest to a qualified enquiry, and keeping deployment reversible.
Approach
- Mapped legacy URLs to intentional redirects and added route-specific canonical metadata.
- Reworked calls to action around a structured, accessible project enquiry instead of exposing scheduling as the first step.
- Separated the public React client, authenticated CMS API and MySQL persistence behind a single application service.
- Used preview-first deployment, a retained rollback release and a validated database backup before production cutover.
What was delivered
- Responsive React and TypeScript interface
- Accessible labelled enquiry form with safe validation and retry states
- Route-aware metadata, sitemap and legacy redirects
- Authenticated CMS and migration-backed MySQL storage
- VPS release workflow with health checks and rollback retention
Verified evidence
- • The repository test, TypeScript, lint and production-build gates pass.
- • The public preview responds over HTTPS and its database service reports healthy.
- • Client work is withheld from public case studies until display permission and evidence are recorded.
